Kountry Thyme Jack Russell Terriers is a family owned and operated facility.  We love our dogs immensely and
take great pride in being guardians of this breed.

It had been a dream of mine since I was a child to own a Jack Russell Terrier.  I fell in love with the breed the first
time I saw it.  In June of 2002 I went to work for an Arabian horse farm in Wisconsin and the trainer that I worked for
had a "shorty".  Her name was Reba and I loved her independant yet loving ways.  She had us all trained very well.
When I left that job to move to Arkansas and get married my husband informed me that his mother's best friend
from High School, Karen Adams, bred Jack Russells.  I immediately went home, looked up her website, and
e.mailed her to see when her next litter of puppies was due.  She just so happened to have a litter that was just 5
days old and had one female available.  I begged Kirk to let me get her and he agreed to buy her for me as my
wedding present from him.  I named her Kountry Thyme Viktoria Grace, Tora for short.

It wasn't long after that that I ran across Wendy Lindsey's website.  She had an adorable litter of puppies for sale
and they were only a couple days older than Tora.  One female in particular caught my eye.  Again I called Kirk
and begged, "Tora needs a sister," I told him.  He agreed.  That puppy was named Kountry Thyme Raya Justine,
and with that my breeding program was born.

Now here I am 4 years and several dogs later and loving every minute of it.  I also now have several helpers in my
9 year old step-daughter, 3 year old daughter and 2 year old daughter.  They love the dogs as much or more(if
that's possible) than me.  My dogs, my horses and my family are the biggest joys in my life.  I don't know how I
functioned without my Jacks and once you have one in your life you'll never be the same and never be able to be
without one.  They are addictive little dogs that weasel their way into your heart with their childish antics and sweet
expressions.  Please feel free to contact me about any of my dogs, available puppies, or if you just want to talk
Jack Russell.  I am always up for a chat about my beloved breed.

But why breed.....
A love for animals is something that I have possesed my entire life.  As a child I was always dreaming of what my
next pet might be and we had a lot of them.  Dogs, cats, birds, fish, snakes, guinea pigs, ducks, horses, rabbits, our
home was always alive with the sounds of our animals.  I feel that growing up with animals is a must for any child as
it teaches them a responsibility for something other than themselves and teaches them to put the well being of
another above their own.  My first experience with newborn animals was when we had a stray cat that adopted us
that happened to be pregnant at the time.  About a month after she came to live with us I was sitting on the back
porch petting her when I felt a jump inside her stomach.  Immediately I knew she was going to have babies.  About
two weeks later she gave birth in our neighbors barn across the street.  We moved her and her two little kittens into
the house and they lived together in a cardboard box until the kittens were old enough to be out and about.  I really
think it was at that young age, I couldn't have been more than 9, that the breeding bug got me.  I knew that raising
baby animals would be a big part of my life in some way or another.

Here at Kountry Thyme I breed first and foremost for ourselves, to perpetuate our bloodlines and to improve the
breed.  However in each litter that we breed there is not always a puppy born that we feel fits the role that we
intended that breeding to fill.  Breeding is not a science and we are very particular about the dogs we retain for our
breeding program.  Even in the litters that we do choose to keep a puppy from there are always several puppies
that we can not keep for ourselves, no matter how much we would like to keep every puppy we produce, it just is
not realistic.  That is where you come in.  We are always looking for loving homes for our pet puppies.  As well as
breeding and show homes for potential breeding dogs that we can not keep ourselves.  We enjoy helping new
ethical people get started with their breeding programs and are always here to answer any questions.  If we don't
have the answer we will do our best to find the answer from one of the many breeder friends that we have been
fortunate enough to meet in the time we have been breeding.

I am currently a member in good standing of the EJRTCA.  The EJRTCA has some great breeders and I feel
fortunate to be listed among them and call many of them friends.  It has been a joy to be a apart of this great club
while perpetuating the legacy of these wonderful little dogs.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have about us, our dogs or becoming a member of the
EJRTCA, I would be glad to be of any assistance possible and to direct you to the right sources if there are
questions I can not answer.
